Vacheron launched the Royal Eagle in 2002 as the sportier counterpart to the Overseas, aimed at a younger crowd. Tonneau case, fluted Art Deco lugs, in-house chronograph, and the signature double-aperture date at 12. The line didn’t last long and production numbers were small, so they rarely surface - especially locally.
37x40mm wears comfortably and the tonneau profile gives it more presence than the case dimensions suggest. Clean grey dial with three contrasting sub-registers and deco-style numerals - very distinct from the usual round chrono crowd. Cheaper than I’ve ever seen listed here in Aus, by a decent chunk of change!
