This is a stupidly cool watch.
1982 Vacheron Constantin 222 in steel and yellow gold.
One of around 150 made in this two-tone variation.
That is not something I get to say very often.
I think the 222 is one of those watches that just keeps getting better the more you understand watches.
Slim case, integrated bracelet, proper Vacheron history, and a design that feels every bit as special now as it would have in the early 80s.
And honestly, the two-tone works.
Some two-tone watches feel dated. This doesn’t. It feels warm, interesting, and very much of its era in the best possible way.
This is not a watch for someone trying to buy their first nice piece.
It’s for someone who knows exactly what it is, and knows they probably won’t see another one anytime soon.
