My Thoughts
Now this has some character.
R serial puts it around 1987, right in that late 5513 era where the glossy dials can develop what they call spidering - and this one has done it beautifully. Plenty going on across the dial when it hits the right light, nice warmth through the lume, and mechanically it’s running exceptionally well.
The watch itself presents really nicely for its age and, for me, this is exactly what makes vintage Rolex fun. No two age the same, and this one definitely has its own personality.
One thing worth noting, the caseback threads do show some wear, it doesn’t hinder the way it wears but I’d treat it as non-waterproof. Not that it’s something I’d be swimming in anyway!
