Heres my hot take -If this said “Submariner” or “Daytona” on the dial, it would be snapped up instantly. Instead, you’re looking at what is effectively a precious metal Submariner, for more or less the same money as stainless steel.
Yes, before anyone jumps in, it’s not an identical Sub. But the Yacht-Master was designed as the luxury, precious-metal counterpart - and in my opinion, warmer, richer, and far more interesting in person.
Compare it to a Root Beer GMT. Similar vibe, similar wrist presence, plus a GMT hand and ceramic bezel. That watch trades $6–7k higher all day long. When you look at it like that, the value here is pretty easy to see.
This is one of those watches people overlook because it doesn’t have the “right” name on the dial. Their loss.
