My Thoughts
You could argue the Royal Oak has influenced modern watch design more than almost anything else made in the last 50 years. Integrated bracelet sports watches are everywhere now - yet this is still the gold standard!
And once you actually handle one, you understand why. The brushing, polished bevels and tiny transitions across the case and bracelet require a ridiculous amount of hand finishing. AP makes roughly one-seventh as many watches across its entire brand as Rolex is estimated to make Datejusts alone! AP has said they simply can’t just churn them out faster.
This combination 41mm steel Chronograph, incredibly beautiful blue Grande Tapisserie dial and contrasting silver counters.
A grail watch for a lot of people.
