Most people know the Moonwatch. The FOIS is for the people who went a little further down the rabbit hole.

This one was Omega tipping its hat back to the CK2998 worn by astronaut Wally Schirra during the first privately purchased Omega to go into space. Straight lugs, symmetrical case, alpha hands… small details, but they completely change the personality of the watch.

And if you’ve had a normal Moonwatch on wrist before, you’ll know exactly what I mean.

It wears differently. Slightly cleaner, slightly dressier, and I reckon just a little more interesting. The sort of watch where other Speedmaster owners notice what you’re wearing.

This is a 2017 example presented as a complete set and in excellent condition throughout.

At $5,999 I think these make a lot of sense. You’re into Speedmaster money without paying Moonwatch tax, and getting something a little less obvious at the same time.

The people who know these… know these.
