The 116509 is straight up a great reference. 40mm of solid 18k white gold throughout - case, bezel, bracelet, the lot.
White gold’s got that great sneaky quality where it looks like steel from across the room until someone picks it up and feels the weight - proper stealthy and one of the coolest things about the watch.
The dial on this one is also one of the better configurations available - silver panda racing with contrasting black sub-registers, red accents popping perfectly off the silver, and applied white gold Arabic numerals. A lot to love here.
For the price of a steel ceramic Daytona, you’re getting solid 18k white gold, an interesting + under-appreciated dial, and a properly different watch on the wrist. The maths doesn’t add up for steel when this is on the table.
