A neo-vintage Omega sports chrono with a great backstory and some cool design touches you don’t get on the standard Double Eagles.
Released in 2007 to celebrate Omega’s title sponsorship of the Mission Hills World Cup -
The “Double Eagle” name is a golf reference (eagle is -2, double eagle is -3) and Omega even laid the sub-registers out in a deliberate figure-eight to nod to it.
41mm titanium case with the classic Constellation “claws” down the sides, black carbon fibre PVD dial, rubber-coated bezel, crown and pushers - a world-first for Omega at the time. Cal. 3313 inside, which when it dropped in 2001 was the world’s first chronograph movement with a co-axial escapement.
Mission Hills models are noticeably less common than the standard Double Eagles - tournament emblem on the sapphire caseback is the giveaway.
