I think the reason these get called the “one watch collection” is actually pretty simple.
They’re clean, minimalist, reliable, comfortable and ridiculously easy to wear.
No polished centre links. No colourful bezel. No flashy dial. Just a simple black 36mm Rolex that does exactly what you want it to do.
And honestly, as far as full set Rolex goes, they’re still relatively affordable too.
This particular example is also about as good as you could realistically hope to find. Mint condition, full set and from the very last production year of the 14270.
It’s also part of the short luminova dial run right before Rolex transitioned into the next generation, which makes these late examples especially desirable.
A really, really good watch.
