My Thoughts
I have a very special one here!
This is about as beautiful and as honest of a 18238 as you’ll find. The factory blue stick dial is gorgeous and flawless, the tritium plots are all intact, the case has developed some absolutely stunning patina, and the bracelet is still tight and true.
Then add in the fact it’s a double quickset, which makes these so much nicer to live with day to day, and honestly… you’re hard pressed to find much to pick on here.
But the little detail I really love is on the caseback.
This one carries the tiny “Sté R” mark, standing for Société Rolex - a French importation/responsibility mark used on Rolex watches destined for the French market. You just don’t see it very often, and it gives this one a nice little extra bit of provenance on top of an already killer blue-dial Day-Date.
Factory blue stick dial, beautiful honest condition, tight bracelet and French delivery. This is a seriously good 18238!
