Absolute neo vintage p0rn. (Can I say that?)
The polar 16570 is already one of the most loved Explorer II references ever made. Gorgeous watch straight out of the box. But somewhere between 1991 and right now, this one went from beautiful to extraordinary! This thing has so much character that the Albanese government wants to start taxing it!
Panna dial. Chichi di mais hour markers. Those hands. Every single index aged differently to a deep warm caramel — Rolex didn’t do this. Time did. 35 years to be exact and you simply cannot buy, cannot fake, and cannot rush it.
It’s also a 1991. My birth year. I might be biased… but between the two of us, I reckon this one aged better.
