Now this is the sort of watch that gets me excited! A classic sub with deep, caramel popcorn coloured lume plots that can only be developed with time.
I would choose this sort of piece over something modern every day of the week. In fact, I actively do!
To me, the five-digit era was peak Rolex. Old enough to have character and charm, easy enough to wear as a daily.
This example has an extremely sharp case, is keeping perfect time, and presents exactly how you want a vintage Sub to present.
A dial like that does most of the talking.
The warm, golden, matching patina, glossy black dial, aluminium bezel with light markings throughout, and that honest but very clean vintage feel - this is the stuff I genuinly adore buying and selling. And if it didn’t sell, I’ll have no issue wearing it myself.
